Car Audio Newb here.

whats up guys, im looking for a little help/advice.

Im looking to buy the whole sub/amp/wiringkit set up for car.

Some info

the car: Hyundai Tiburon

Music I listen to : Mainly hip hop. Some older rock

What im looking for, i guess would be a mix of sound quality and loudness. somewhere in the middle

budget: ive got 500$ total to blow on a sub, Amp, And wiring.

My cousins and a few people have suggested for a SUB to get

One 12" Kicker Comp CVR.

Which on E-bay run about 76$ average with free shipping, new, with warranty.

Any suggestions for my preferences guys??

appreciate it a ton

I paid 190 for my hifonics 1000 watt amp (txi-1008), $160 for my mach 5 ixl 10" sub, and you can get a wiring kit for $25-40 online. Build a box yourself for $40 and you're good to go.

I will say that it's easier to buy good stuff right off the bat rather than buy cheap stuff and keep upgrading over and over and over.

Not to thread jack, but how do you like your IXL 10? Thinking I'd like to have one next.

****it i dont know Shit about subs and amps though.

Mach 5 ixl 10" > Kicker 12 comp CVR????

edit: also was that new bro?? I would like a warrenty

Yeah that's brand new. The mach 5 ixl 10 with walk all over the comp vr's any day of the week.

They're brand new from http://www.mach5audio.com, prices include shipping. Do a search for them and you won't find anything bad about them.

When matching amps and subs compare the subs rms power handling (not the peak, the rms. Ignore the peak rating) with the amps rms output (once again, ignore peak as if it's not even there.) at the right ohm. The ohm rating of your sub determines the amount of power your amp will put out when hooked up. For instance:

if you have (1) single 4 ohm sub and (1) single 8 ohm sub, the amp will put out more power at 4 ohms vs. 8 ohms. It sounds a lot more complicated than it really is, check out the wiring section, there's a wiring diagram sticky that's pretty helpful. http://www.rockfordfosgate.com also has a woofer wiring wizard that helps show you how to wire your sub(s).

Shoot me a pm if you have anymore questions man.

Do you have a factory cd player? Or an aftermarket one?

edit: Im retarded. I wasnt logged in, thats why i couldnt find the PM button.

I am not a fan of dealercostcaraudio.com and will never use them again. I waited over 2 weeks for an order to ship out and I was never told it was back ordered. I kept shooting emails to them and they said they would get it out as quickly as possible. I finally had to call over and over until I got an agent on the phone who notified me of the problem. They quickly swapped my order for something they had in stock and got it shipped out. I should get it today. I placed my order on July 2nd. So it only took 20 days. They could have told me the first time I emailed them it was back ordered and we could have resolved this way sooner. Hope you have better luck then me. As far as your setup it should sound good //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Dealercostaudio is NO GOOD! If you have a problem, they're HARD as hell to get in contact with!!! Turned me off as a buyer so I went elsewhere! Best of luck to you and about to respond back to your PM!

All that being said... I'm glad you went with a nice woofer.. It's often times hard to convince noobs into getting decent audio, but you seemed to be easily persuaded and will victor from this. Now be sure to build a properly tuned and designed box.

well you guys definitely know your shit, and now Everybody who i tell who knows a thing about subs says i made a **** good choice.

thanks to you guys.

Im already pumped.

Ive got about 60$ to spend on a box, any suggestions guys???

Good choice on the sub but in all honesty the lower end line of Hifonic's amps isn't that great. You probably could have found a couple amp's on here that will be alot better and might even have saved you a little money. Now don't get me wrong Hifonics make's good stuff but for $200 that amp would have been at the bottom of my list. And for a box I would suggest Viveet since hes' already posted in this thread and is well known on this forum for building great quality boxes.
