I have alittle over $300 to spend on a nice set of headphones, im looking for something that i an use with my mp3 player on the go and also use at home since im often listening to music on my computer most of the night. Whats the best bang for my buck, sound quality and comfort both being the biggest factors, i might be able to go alittle over $300 if i find it really necessary.

As of right now i have a pair of Koss headphones i paid $12 for 2+ years ago so im sure anything would be an imporvement.

Thanks

i have those, they the big bassy ones you got?

Im looking for something more "in ear" becuase i want to use it at work and such with my mp3 player, but also have them sound **** good...

Im really thinking about the Shure E5c headphones, but for $550+ i am kinda skeptical, ive seen reviews online though and aparently it doesnt get any better?

BOSE has a really nice set of in ear headphones that came out recently. I would give those a try. And I would agree that the in ear style would be best considering you are looking for comfort, sq, and want to be able to wear them in the general public. I just got a $15 set of Phillips though. THey've done me good so far.

And for me, the most comfortable kind are the gel/rubber rubber ones. Not the traditional ear bud kind. Those hurt like hell after about an hour.

i only wear in-ear's to bed, running, and other activities where my big headphones aren't necessary. but i will wear my sennheiser in public even though they are big and look out of place.

In ear, I don't know, but I can agree with Sennheiser. I only have a $40 headset from them right now and I love it for CS:S. I'd buy some better ones, but I rarely use them :/

I don't remember the model number of the Shure's I have, but they were around $175. I was also skeptical about them, but the guy said to try them for a few days and if I didn't like them bring them back. I'm impressed how good they sound and they don't try to work their way out of my ear when I run. I highly recommend!

ETA: They also come with different size/shape rubber and foam covers and they are very comfortable.
