Looking for a good scope

Hey im looking to buy an oscilliscope to set gains on amps. Been doing it for a while with a dmm but i want to try a scope now as im hearing its much more accurate. Basically from what im reading you use a test cd and use 50 hz for subs and 1000 hz for speakers. I keep seeing scopes for example that say 20mhz and 40mhz. What should i be looking for. Also i had no idea scopes would be as expensive as the prices im coming across. I don't want to be cheap as im going to be using it for a long time and i want accuracy and im a firm believer in getting what you pay for but at the same time i dont feel like overpay for features im not going to use. I would try ebay but at the same time i don't want to take a chance on getting shafted from there either. Any recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks.

i use a BK Precision, i like their scopes. 20MHz still WAAAAYYY more than you'll ever need. you can buy a decent one used and have no worries. what we do in car audio is pretty basic.

i've also used Tenma, those can be had at MCM Electronics for a pretty fair price. They have a handheld version as well.

in college we used Tektronix and Agilent.

the DSO Nano looks like a good idea, but the lack of actual controls seems like it would be frustrating. i'm used to setting time and voltage divisions with a simple twist of a knob. having to navigate a menu to make those changes could be annoying. i'd like to get my hands on one, and for 1/3 the price of the Tenma handheld, i may just do that...

I just bought one of those dso nano whatchamagigits. ive heard good things about them.
Me too. It's in the mail ? (from China lol). I couldn't resist. It'd be nice to save waveforms to my PC, my Tektronix analog dual trace won't do that and my camera just won't take pics of the screen. Plus I won't have to drag an extension cord out to the driveway. We'll see if it's worth 80 bucks.
