Looking for a good mix of sq and spl

I currently have 1 kicker cvr 12 and was looking for a harder hitting anddd better sounding setup. My budget for subs is no more then $400. I was looking at soundqubed hd street 12s/10s. But when i looked used I found a couple things that sparked my interest

1st Thing was 2 jl audio w6s in a ported box for 300. He refoamed the subs and there's glue on the faceplate of the subs. He said they work perfectly and that I could listen to them before I buy them. I was also looking at 4 image dynamics idq 8s for 400. I'm not really looking for huge bass but definitely more then my one kicker. So any help would be appreciated.

300 for two w6s is a fair price, i'd actually rock those over soundqubed hds any day if Sound quality was factored into the bigger picture.

I was really looking at 2 image dynamics idq 12s. I think I could spend the extra $60 to get two. How would 2 idq 12s sound compared to 4 8s? I can get 4 8s for $60 cheaper. Honestly I want it to hit lows pretty good but still maintain a decent sound. I heard a hdcs10 and didn't sound bad at all too me. Got down pretty hard too.

4 8s and 2 12s are comparable. Install would be the deciding factor

I'm guessing Both best the Alpine in SQ and spl? I liked the Alpine the price and I'm not sure about running components on an amp and havjng 2 1200w RMS subs on my stock alternator. Would that work out okay? If money wasn't a problem I would buy the image dynamics if they are what everyone says they are. I've read mixed reviews on how they hit lows. But all reviews have said they sound great. Only problem with the soundqubed subs for me is they like big boxes and I drive a 1998 mustang. I know that Alpines like small sealed boxes.

No matter what sub I get I'm getting a box built for it btw

SQ and SPL don't really mix imo. Some of the JL audio subs when used with the correct enclosure can get fairly loud while still producing pretty accurate bass but then you run into the problem of finding speakers that can keep up with good SQ at high volume levels.

So guys I've decided to go with the 4 8" idqs. Whats a good cheap amp that would make between 15-2000w rms. I think this will be a great mix of spl and sq.
Between 15-2000 watts? That's a huge difference. Thinking you meant 1500. I'm hoping so anyway. What is your budget?

Well the 4 of the idq 8s would be 2000w rms, so what about something in the 1800-2100 range? I don't really have to get every ounce of power out them. My budget is around 250. Are the cheaper amps like boss audio and etc any good? I had a boss audio 1500w amp and it powered my 2 kicker 10s I had before just fine. Or should I spend the extra money on a good amp?

Garbage amps, it makes stuff move, however your actual rms is more like 150 with that boss 1500. Anything boss, pyle, lanzar, power acoustik, crunch, just take out a zero at the end and youll get the amps proper power numbers. Dirty, cheap, lowest end chinese power with horrible quality control. Chances of getting a brick doorstop is very high.
