Looking for a good active setup

I've been browsing a bunch and I can't seem to decide on a good active setup for my front soundstage. I'm looking for a 2way setup for about $4-500. I'd like to get some tweeters that are warmer/natural rather than too bright. They will be running off my Alpine h701 and most likely powered by an Alpine PDX 4.150 (150W RMS). I've got an Alpine 12" Type-X (sealed one cube), so I just need a midrange driver for my doors. I would like to continue to use the factory locations, so the midrange needs to be about 6.5" and the tweeter about 1", although I can make some adjustments to fit other sizes. Also, I care more about SQ than SPL. Any advice would be appreciated.

if i had $500 then i'd get the Seas W18 and Hiquphon Ow1 fs, thats if you can fit a large format tweeter.
Unfortunately it would be tough to fit that tweet in the stock location. I've probably only got about 1-1.5" to work with. The tweeters are mounted on a plastic panel just inside the side mirror above the door trim. I don't mind modifying this because if I decide to sell the car I'm sure I can just replace both of these parts at minimal expense. However, I'd rather not have to modify the door trim.

Edit: after double checking I've probably got about 1 3/4 - 1 7/8" mounting diameter. Anything too much larger than that will become a real pain.

I wouldn't reccomend using the home audio in car audio route. It looks tempting but too much work IMO. Stick with car audio products.

Sometimes it's hard though because those drivers have to be special ordered if normally part of a passive crossover network kind of deal.

6spd, YGPM

Well, the Hiquphon OWI-FS looks like an excellent choice for a tweet, but the specs say power handling of only up to 100W. I'm fairly certain it wouldn't be a huge problem feeding them 150W so long as I don't beat on them (which I wont since I'm going for SQ). Does anyone know if this is a problem though?

many people use home audio drivers for car use and have huge success. i've done it before and didn't have a problem. seas w18 is a very popular choice.

shouldn't be a problem, as long as you watch your gains //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif.

I have been reading about it on diymobileaudio.com for over a year. I have seen (but not personally heard) many good results, I just decided it wasn't for me and telling him why.

I would reccomend doing some research over there anyway as they tend to focus on that sort of thing moreso than over here, even though many members are the same.
