Just starting getting back into car audio again and looking for a good sounding sub. What i have now is a old school kicker zr360 amp with 1 memphis pr sub in a ported box. The box is to memphis min cu. Ft. Specs with a slot port and was gonna make their optimal box specs but dont think ill still like the way it will sound. What im looking for is a good sounding sub around 500rms that slams. Im gonna use a ported box and its going in a hyundai accent hatchback that i will make a box for and have enough room for like a 3 cu. ft. box. i dont want a kicker,jl,rockford, alpine ect ive had them back in the day. I was looking at sundown, american bass and audioque subs and like to keep it around $200 for the sub and 500rms range cause i wanna keep the amp its an old school power house i kept from back in the day and still even have end caps.lol.

Thanks for all the info guys. I decided to go with an american bass xfl 1244 sub after your suggestions and alot of google searching on the sub. Here is my million dollar question. Since i have the old school kicker zr360 and the sub is 1000k rms im woundering if that amp will be enough to power it nicely without it sounding like it needs more power.

Are you sure? The XFL is a great sub, I'm running two of them. But from what I've seen, it usually takes a little more than what your amp is bringing to the table to really see them shine. If I were you, I'd check into some of the 2.5" coiled subs rather than three, just because they're generally going to be rated closer to what power you can provide them.

FVCK NO, hence why we suggested obsidian 600w, 1000w is like low power on a xfl......
