Hey guys! I have a bunch of extra audio equipment that I have been selling and just couldn't bring myself to get rid of my 10" JBL GTI MKiis. I never had a chance to actually hear these guys in a proper box. I was young and dumb and threw them in a sealed box that had dimensions for a large pair of 15s and then on top of that only fed em around 400rms each. They are rated at 600rms and 3k max(which I found weird as companies usually advertise twice their rms as max). I've been told by shops they can take much more than 600, and on a site I read a post about a guy running em at 1000rms daily.
So to the point. I decided to give these too my friend, since he will be living with me and I'm often riding around in his car. That way I won't miss them. I told him he could have them as long as he bought an amplifier to feed em at least 2k watts. This way he gets 2 subs that retailed for $500 ea when I bought em and I get to finally listen to them at full potential. So I am open to any and all suggestions for amplifiers that can get a clean 2k watts to these guys(keeping in mind that these are dual 3 ohm subs). He doesn't have a whole lot of money to spend an will have to do some saving before he gets a chance to purchase. I was thinking something along the lines of HiFonics BRX 2400.1 just because it can be bought around $285. But essentially all we are looking for is the most cost effective way to get a clean 2krms of quality power to these guys. Thanks.
