Looking for a decent sql subwoofer for under $200

Go obsidian, they get loud and sound damn good doing it.

Mines only on 200wrms right now while im waiting for my AQ1200 to come in. Bass still keeps up with my highs(keep in mind im in a single cab)

I'll sell him my cvx 12 d4 and box for $120. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif Sub is in vgc, box measures 25x14x14 (just a hair over 2 cu/ft), so it eats up just a little bit more space than an sa8 would.

He is super against buying used no idea why but he is.

Also the sa-8 is out of the question he doesn't want to waite 2 more months or buy the old one and have it be out dated in 2 months so right now I have it narrowed down to 3 12s

the scar vvx-12

the sundown sa-12

and the obsidian 12

So what do you think would work best in a smaller enclosure playing mostly rock/indie music

obsidian or skar if your going sealed, sa is not a great sealed subwoofer, likes to be ported.

amazing sub best deal on the market now, made for sealed and entirely sq based. was built by fosgate before they went Chinese. and the best thing is it only requires 1.5 sealed.

the other option i would choose over the other for you is

fi ssd 12 with hight qts option for sealed

You could also do a ported 10, that would give a better freq response over a sealed 12, provided you tune the box low. Most 10s take 1-1.5 cu/ft ported so it won't be over 2cu/ft after port and sub disp. Something with a low fs and low inductance, tuned to 30-33hz would work great, get an amp thats 600-1krms and you'll be set.

none of those subs match your wanted sub you said you wanted sql leaning more toward sq. The sa and skar line I have heard and are not very sq oriented subs. I recommended I very nice sql sub oriented more towards sq and you never even looked over it. I am not trying to bash anyone's opinions but you can't recommend a god **** sa line subwoofer for every person in the world. Yes they are great drivers but the man wanted more of an sq driver and you deviated him from that with our forum boner sub.

Lol i havnt heard an SA or VVX but ive heard that the OA is more sq oriented. I think mine sounds great

But i would like to pick up a real SQ oriented 12 for my box just to have. That TC epic looks bomb, can u think of anything of the top of your head thats sq, 6.75depth max that likes boxes ported at 2.2cu^ft? maybe pm me so we can get off OPs thread lol

But OP did say SQL, my votes still for the OA 12 though lol

Look at the SSA Dcon and Dayton HO lines as well. I have never heard the TC but it seems legit on paper. Inductance is the same as the SA/VVX so I'm curious how they would sound.

With a Vas of 3.22 cubes he would need a big freakin enclosure....and with an EBP of 57.14 it isn't stellar for going sealed.

Compare that to the other subs mentioned in the thread and it don't look so sweet, but rant on, lol

He never said what size box he was looking for but 2.25 sealed with some foam and it easily becomes the most musical over those.

I saw your sugestion but saw the box size and thats going to be too big sorry if I didnt post that but if you look at what he has come from (2 sony xplodes in a prefab box) I think all of these choices will sound better, I should of probably changed the post up and not put sq orientated as there is no way the amount of effort needed for such an install will be put into this build //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
