Not even the same league as far as depth (even when you pop off that magnet cover, the IDs are about average for depth). Great SQ. ED and RF are coming out with shallow mount subs very shortly, not sure about pricing.

I guess it depends on how shallow we are talking and how small of an enclosure we are talking. Do you have 2" of depth of 5" of depth? .2cuft or .9cuft?

The Illusions are shallow mount drivers, but NOT small box drivers (ND-12 needs a good 1 - 1.25cuft). Not really in your price range either.....but a good driver none-the-less.
