Looking for 2000-2400

Looking for a amp that does 2000-2400RMS at 1ohm and tat will do rated power. Was looking at the Orion HCCA 2500.1 or the Orion XTR 2200.1. Can anyone reflect on this and what other amp do you guys recommend?

Would 2 12s Sundown SA or Type R's be good on the FSD2600. And is it true you loose about 30% of power due to box rise and voltage drop? Or is it less %?

Usually 50% or more is lost - typically you will have about 2x rise (wiring to 1 ohm, you will see about 2 ohm minimum since it's a reactive load)

With that said, yes either one would be fine on the 2600 wired to 1 ohm. I think the Alpine's rating is a little exagerrated - I'd put it and the sundown on the same level power handling wise so don't think the 1000w rating puts it ahead.

Or you could even do a couple Audio Legion 12s for a little less money //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif They're a great bang for your buck sub on our store as well.

Type Rs arent in the same league as sundown in terms of loudness capabilities, not even close. They are much more fragile too. Their power rating is 1000 watts before rise as in, 1000 watts after rise, they will fry. Tested a lot and they just dont even come close to most of the other subs on the market. Higher RMS does not always mean louder. The alpine is a good bit lighter than the sundown as well..

This is the Audio legion sub soundrive was talking about. They look pretty decent and beefy for the price. Lots of cooling, strong sundown style basket

Actually type r's can get loud really easy on rated, but they aren't something you want to overly abuse. The SAs will handle the 2600 in stride

i really like them as well. nothing highend but a great bargin..

Im hoping hte HCCAs are like hte orginal with the high dampening factors and good isolation on between switching and power supplies..

i love high power installs and turth be told most amps today have 200-300 damping factor which driving one woof isnt bad. i love to see the higher damping factor amps though.
