after he made the adjusments, it still didnt compare to the Type R. thats the best sub u canget rite, crushes SX,rl-p, ava, whaeva else for the price. none comes close 2 wha the R is capable of and wha it has done.

Output? Possibly.

Sound quality? No.

You really can't go wrong either way.

Although I know the rl-p's are a lil more picky with install specs.

don't take me word for word
but I think his main issue with the rl-p was that it wasn't hitting hard and the sq wasn't all the great. I believe he ended up porting it or lowering the gain/using another box or some other major install adjustment, and he described it as being "day and night" difference.

He also said the Type R would probably still be stronger in terms of output. I dunno if the second direct comparison was made though.

never got back to the comparison... My TL took a crap, got it fixed now.

I plan on finishing the test in my monte carlo, when i get a head unit back in there lol.

Those are great numbers no doubt, but someone who doesnt have the testing capabilities / equipment to make it do those numbers aren't going to get the same results. We all know Mark uses his "magic wang dust" lol.
Get what you think you should get man. You won't be able to achieve the numbers that Team Phat Hertz has unless you have a TL (or whatever meter) and can constantly test, rebuild, test, rebuild, & test some more... I'd go with the rl-p's to tell you the truth if you want a little better SQ than the R's.

But the fact that they are CAPABLE says something... very very few woofs can come close, the mighty DD 95 cries with that much power at this low of a note, handles but it sounds nasssssty... and yea its behind the type R, even with 1650 reactive watts per woof. At a higher note... lol type R gets pwned by dam near everything.

If you want SQ, i'd honestly grab a type X... big jump over the RL-P SPL wise (neither are loud, heh), and it sounds equally as good... also a much more forgiving driver enclosure wise.

Get a pair of Funky Pups and call it a day!

I think RE SE, Type-R or RL-p will all please you, they all have great SQ and get silly loud with the right enclosures. Here's what you do:

1) Write each one down on a scrap piece of paper.

2) put them in a hat

3) Reach in a grab one

4) Call and order you sub immediately so you don't have time to contemplate anymore

5) Install your sub and say, "**** I picked a good sub"!

the RL-P is not a loud sub...

The SE is alright, but the type R makes for a better overall SQ woofer... th SE only has the advantage sealed.

I really need to get metered. All I have to go by is a buddy who hit 140.xx in a dbdrag and my car is noticabley louder than his, but oh well, I'm selling the SE's on Friday and getting a Brahma 15 again

Spkrman, You have had success with Type-R's with your "freak of nature awsome box building skillz". I have had success with SE's with my "**** I'm lucky I built it like that skillz", but all 3 of those subs get loud in the proper enclosure. Powerbass Xtremes and Treo SSi's are also great street beaters.
