Looking at getting 2 AA atlas 15's Opinions?

Does anyone own or have owned an ascendant atlas? Preferably a 15? Im looking into getting 2 of em and putting them in a sealed box (not enough room for 2 atlas 15's ported). If anyone has any info, scores, etc that may help me get to know the subs before I give the final word that I want them.. it would be appreciated.

LOL i have 2 atlas 15's sealed 2.3cf each and i LOVE them, imo best sq ever, and the spl is pretty good also, im doing 141 in the kick in a 94jeep, very good subs build quility is top notch, the only con is the upper bass 60hz+ gets a lil muddy, but that was when it was in the pre-fab box, now in the box i made it sounds a lot better.

zomg. sexy. I wish i could compare them to my old setup... but i never had it metered, nor do I think they ever performed to their full potential. I never could get them to bottom out in an enclosure... Pounded my memphis's daily with twice their rated power daily for over 2 years with no problems.. they wont die! What kind of power are you sending them?

im useing a RE12.1 amp it does 700wrms@2ohms, so 350each, they get pretty loud, when i got them metered the guy after me was running 2 15cvr's ported and a zx1000.1 and was only 2db's louder than me. just a reference.

But ur avas are expensive, and I can get the atlas's for $100 each +Shipping.

they are. But i dont have that kind of money on hand right now... and i need a change of pace. Whats so good about avas? I havent heard much about them, except that theyre loud.

Avalanches get really loud and still sound good, and they are underrated power handling wise. They have godly low end.

the ava is one nice sub also, has monster low end. it would be prety close output wise as a pair of atlas's, but the sq will be better on the atlas's. i hope thats $425 shipped for both.

A single avalanche 15 would be comparable to two atlas 15's in the right box with enough power. The atlas's might have a little upper hand but now a whole lot.

Yeah sq is a really big concern of mine... coming from memphis's flagship of sq subs in a sealed box, its hard for me to appreciate ported and 6th order enclosures.

If it cant keep up with metallica and system of a down's crazy bass drums, it doesnt have a place in my trunk.

^ohh i think you'd be happier with the atlas's then, ppl say that the ava gets muddy in the upper hz range, not the best to play with rock music, im not saying its bad cause its not, but the atlas's are better.
