Looking at Crystal SSCS6

Polls are not accurate.
People may just come in and vote, or just because there is a Rainbow boner, people will just vote for them. It doesn't mean it's a better speaker, and this goes for all speakers.

Rainbow was and still is a forum boner. But from ACCURATE reviews (from owners, not a bandwagoner) are very helpful compared to a poll or someone hearing something about that speaker from someone else.
*chuckle* Alright, last time. I said the polls will take you to people who have USED the speakers (rainbow, cdt, crystal, etc.) and could best tell you in each situation where they found each set to work best. I'm running CDT Cl-61a's, and for entry level, large variances in music with medium power (80rms) they work great. I have heard the crystals and for rap, they sounded GREAT! I did not hear them for any other genre.

BTW, I also have a set on Rainbow SLC 265's that I am trying out in the Honda, If I can ever get off my *** and buy a table saw to build a box for the subs and install everything else I will be able to tell you which on of the two sound better IMO.

I have pretty much narrowed it down to two sets. (Crystal's have been almost eliminated.... don't wanna take the chance with the deep mounting depth and after listening to speakers this weekend, I have decided I like soft dome tweeters better)

Rainbow SLC 265

CDT Ef-61 Cfi w/ 560i Xover and Tw-25 Tweeter.

Both are relatively the same price ~230 so thats not an issue. Purely from a listening perspective what would be the better choice in your opinion. (remember 150 watts per side)

Thanks

Not to mess you up again but Crystal also has an optional silk dome tweet //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif I dont think to many people have them.....

hmmm interesting, I would love the crystals because they are right where i would love to spend. 230 is a little out of my price range for the cdt's and rainbows, but doable. However, i just don't want to take the risk in buying them if they don't fit. If someone has them in a grand cherokee (05 for me), please speak up //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

If you like soft domes and stardard size speakers, I would look at the MTX TCX series and the Kicker SS series... I see them on ebay close to $200. They are designed by the same person I told you about.

The Rainbow and CDT sets you are talking about are great speakers, you can't go wrong with those... but they are only middle or low-middle tier product... you would probably have to look at CDT or Rainbow speakers in the $400 range or there abouts to compare to the ones I have mentioned.
