It has better range than an Escort, but almost too much range. It seems as if it's falsing, because it goes off long before the source is in site. Escort, I think, is an all-around better product.

Well most of my drive is a straight road, so I could live with that. I mean that's not necessarily a bad thing to have. And I was reading that there is some way to turn that down or control it.

a friend has had one for about 2 years now. The range is very nice, I cant compare it to the escort, as the only other detectors ive seen were really cheap. i can say on a straight road the range is over a mile. One of the newer versions of the firmware causes a lot of false alarms, but youll get the feel for the area youre driving in, and where the false alarms are. The directional indicators are nice. Weve been able to dodge cops on more than one occasion when they were not even on the same road as us. (parallel)

i forget what forum, but somewhere on the net you can get it led modded to whatever colors you like, installed in the dash, and hard wired to the car so you dont use a cigarette lighter slot.

Your talking about POP, the escort x50's 9500's and comparable Belltronics all have this feature.

Go with an escort Valentine ones were good back in the day now they are old and outdated.

it is too late but if you surf slick deals you would have seen this deal beltronics 965 for 85 shipped from amazon. it was up for like 32 hours and i ended up getting one but compare your detector to the valentine. btw i use a valentine 1 in my car along with laser interceptor jammer and a gps mirror for speedtraps and redlight camera. this is for my girl who speeds like 5 over lol

my 8500 x50 has saved me numberous times

you just gotta remember to be smart about it.

If your doing above 80ish your just asking for it.

I usually do 70-75, as soon as i hear the first chirp I left off the gas.

X bands are usually false and are triggered by stores and such, I have had a few X bands that turned out to be cops. So I wouldnt turn X off.

K is usually a cop but some signals set it off also

Ka is a cop

Laser , your done, he has you, just pull over

Pop has only worked once

I do 80 down the interstate. I don't mind digging into the brakes a little.

K (for me) is usually a mapco or something. Most of the cops here use Ka. 90% I would say that I've passed have used Ka.
