Looking at a couple 8's

I will have ~500rms to throw at an 8 in my new build, and I was wonder what I should look at. I am pressed on space because I have a reg. cab ranger, so I only have about 4.5in depth. My goal is to get as low as possible, while still sounding good. I will be porting the box with a flared aero. I looked at the e8's, but can they take that much rms? I looked at 1508, but from reviews I read, it sounded like the e8 would get lower. Input?

i have a dd1508 in 1cuft ported tuned to about 38hz. i have it running off 1k and let me tell you it gets just as low as any 8 can and can be mistaken for a larger sub.

they take some time to break in but its is by far one of the best 8's out there imo.

So do you think I could tune it lower than that and still be good? Say 32hz? I know DD recommends tuning in the 40hz region, but I am really focused on the lows.

Like I said I was very interested in an e8, but I think I would be giving it waay to much power.

B/s, I had my pair of 1508's tuned at 26Hz for "SQL" and they got almost as loud and wayy lower than my level 5.

No room under seats. Its a *****.

False floor would be an option I guess, but that would move my subs up a couple inches, making the box have to be even smaller at the top.

It's something to think about though

I used to run two dd 1008a's in a single cab f150, and they were tuned to 32hz. Got loud and low.

You should have no problem doing that with one 1508.

Are those the super cheap ones they sell on e-bay? I have wanted to try one of those for a while now, looks like they have a lot of potential.
