Actually if anything will make you lose your hearing its the really loud highs... The bass vibrates at frequencies so low it doesnt vibrate the cilia in your ear canal. Yeah, its not good for your ears by any means, but its not as bad as everyone thinks. The reason 150+ is painful is because of pressure. Dive to the bottom of a 10 foot pool and stay there. Feel that pressure? Yeah, basically the same thing.
