I've had the JL 500/1 for over 3 years, and it kicks ***, my recommendation is JL.

I don't have personal experience using the zx amps, but the sx amps are killer. They use quality parts, all caps are rated for 100 deg C, I believe, which is a rarity these days, and the signal processing versatality is second to none...

I'm pretty sure the JL amps are made overseas as well, for what its worth. Don't listen to these clowns, both Kicker and JL makes great amps. Each have their strengths. I've owned the sx650.1, sx1250.1 and the JL 500/1. The main benefit of the JL is its ability to make constant power into varying impedances. The Kickers have awesome processing. Your gonna love the ability to adjust the crossover slope from 1st order to 6th order, and the crossover point at 1hz increment.

You should've got the SX series mids and highs amp...that way you could link them together and control them through a Kicker processor

I couldn't care less about Kicker, I don't like their stuff. I'm talking about other stuff. My sub was made in China and its excellent quality. Maybe I should have clarified that a little better. Just because it was built somewhere else doesn't mean it sucks. Its either a piece of shit, or its not, thats all.

To the original OP, why succumb to pressure from a bunch of teenagers over the net? Half of them blow whatever way the current is pushing and even more than that will comment on a product that they have never owned. JL is not the best option everytime, might I add. JL has certain purposes just like every other car audio company. Whatever sounds the best and fits your budget, is what you should stick with.

I agree. JL is not bad stuff at all. It's just pricey for most people. Around here JL is the best. Thats mainly because people are retards but thats beside the point. Buy what you like and what your happy with. I bought my Sundown and 2 subs and installed one sub. I don't have the loudest car but its one of the loudest twelves I've heard in the area. Just because Germans followed Hitler, didn't make them right.
