alright i have given into the temptation and would like to try lithium, however i have a 400 amp alt with an internal voltage regulator and was wondering if i can run it at all with my current alt, not looking to get get voltage up just get some serious AH. would i have to use a charger? or would i be better off finding batteries that are the right voltage to charge right off the alt? what would be better for long play time at shows doing demos all day?

What is your alternators charging voltage? Under 14.8 or above?

Lithium would be charged with the alternator just like any other battery.

What amps are you running to decide how much lithium you need.

taramps smart 3k bass and rockville db45 4 channel, i plan on upgrading to a bass 5k soon so have to also keep that in mind, the alt charges at 14.9 to 14.7 on the button

40ah of Yinlong would be my choice. Could just add a diode to the alt to get it charging higher.

What would be the recommended amp hour for a 1000 watt system? The small XP Power 750 is 22 AH.

They have alot of options, I was merley refering to the brand. Seems to me there are a few that will do fine for automotive use.

Well then, guess I missed something, could of sworn I did them due diligence. What spec's (regarding charge and discharge rates) are you refering to as inqdequate? I could have ovcerlooked a spec. or two...
