List every single expense of living on your own

Me and two of my buddies are "crunching some numbers" to see if we would be able to make it on our own without crawling back to the parents for money. So here's what i've got so far.

Rent w/ all utilities - 400 each per month

Entertainment(internet, cable, etc) - 40 each per month

Car insurance- 70 a month(i love the military)

Groceries- 200 a month each(being very generous)

Gas - 100 a month(it would be very close to our jobs and college)

I know there has to be more, so what all am I missing?

Note: we are all taking off one semester to save up money for rent, put it in a joint bank account and let it sit there so we don't have to worry about it for awhile.

Any other suggestions?

what about impulse buys? like the crap on the counter at the gas station, or other random crap one buys that one does not need... i always add a little cash to account for that when figuring out my budgets cause' i know it's gonna happen...

good luck with that. Unless you plan on buying in bulk and cooking every meal of the day, you wont last on $200 a month.

we will all be bringing stuff to furnish our own rooms. I've bought everything in my room, including all the entertainment stuff, and my grandpa owns an appliance/ furniture store. So i'm not worried about furnishing.

200? I spend over 400 in food by myself in a month and I'm a skinny nignog.

If I add everything I have a month I'm at about 3k.

I spend about $250/mo in groceries...but I eat out maybe once per month and most meals last 3 meals...meaning dinner tonight it also lunch and dinner tomorrow.
