Me and two of my buddies are "crunching some numbers" to see if we would be able to make it on our own without crawling back to the parents for money. So here's what i've got so far.

Rent w/ all utilities - 400 each per month

Entertainment(internet, cable, etc) - 40 each per month

Car insurance- 70 a month(i love the military)

Groceries- 200 a month each(being very generous)

Gas - 100 a month(it would be very close to our jobs and college)

I know there has to be more, so what all am I missing?

Note: we are all taking off one semester to save up money for rent, put it in a joint bank account and let it sit there so we don't have to worry about it for awhile.

Any other suggestions?

good luck with that. Unless you plan on buying in bulk and cooking every meal of the day, you wont last on $200 a month.

the most expensive part about a new place is furnishing it. I spent about 2 grand furnishing my room alone, and thats shopping at ikea and costo. And i dont mean electronics, i mean furniture //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

yeah, if you want shitty stuff.
might as well buy it new so your not replacing furniture every few months.
we will all be bringing stuff to furnish our own rooms. I've bought everything in my room, including all the entertainment stuff, and my grandpa owns an appliance/ furniture store. So i'm not worried about furnishing.
