List every single expense of living on your own

You don't buy those things every week do you?
I guess because I live alone it's different. One roll of paper towels will last me a month.

Is that rental of the couch and washer/dryer a rent-to-own type of deal. otherwise, why did you choose to go that route?

yea its a rent to own type of deal. we started renting our washer/dryer because the ones i bought died after 2 yrs. and the couch i rent because i have a 5 yr old that likes to spill stuff. this way i can return them and get a new one when i get tired of them. once my son is older i will purchase a nice couch.

makes sense. This is my first house. It came with washer/dryer and I had a lot of furniture given to me, the rest was purchased off of craigslist. Thankfully no kids //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif. However, the puppy has made my white carpet look like trash =/.

i only pay 150 a month for my mortgage because a bought a duplex and rent one side out for $850

spend around 750/month on groceries for 5 people. Used to spend no more than 400 but eating healthy is more expensive than junk food

And i do actually do stuff at work....its called Supervision. But i also get called out often in the middle of the night, get called to other plants in other states/countries with just a few hours notice. I also do very highly technical loop tuning and validations

Rent - $750/month (but it's a 750k condo on the 22nd floor overlooking the water with about 2200 sq feet) = recession / housing crash FTW

Water - free

cable/internet - free

electricity - $120 - $150 / month

local phone - $25 / month

car - $250 / month (08 Maxima lease)

insurance - $96 / month

student loans - $0 (paid off and debt free FTW)

food / restaraunts - $350

entertainment - $300

usually do 1 vacation with the fiance' per year, which I budget about $1500 - $200k for so an extra $100 - $180 month.

Total about = $2100

Still able to save over 60% of my take home pay so doing ok going into a recesh...

Where do I start. Wait till' you have 4 kids, a mortgage, 2 car payments, credit cards, Home Depot account, Sam's Club account, Sears account. The list goes on and on. This isn't my situation now, but this is what I did have (as far as charge accounts).

gas/electric

rent

insurance home/renters

insurance car

water

trash(some places dont offer it free)

cable/internet

food

gas for car

soap/shampoo/TOILET paper

cell phone

plus you dont wanna be strpped all the time to where you gotta save up just to go have a weekend to go party.trust me been there done that yea i had alot of toys and lived on my own but i also couldnt never leave work to enjoy any of them. if your folks are easy going and you can come and go as you please stay as long as you can get college paid off and buy some toys then move out cuz not only are expected bills a b*tch but unexpected bills are a even bigger b*tch

Rent - 540 (includes water and electric)

Gas - 80 (usually around 20 a week)

Food - 150-250

Car Insurance - 150

Partying - ~200

Misc shit ~200

So a little over 1300 a month. Though if shit is tight I can cut out the party and misc funds, and live off 100$ of food a month. Leaving about 800
