Linux help

is there any way I can run .exe in linux?
it might be possible to use wine or something. Like was said before an emulator.

But like someone else said, the best way to go is to find a program similiar to the one u are trying to use that is made for linux.

like run games and stuff
They make a lot of popular games for linux, but they also do't make a lot, which is exactly why Linux hasn't quite caught on yet //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif There is some kind of emulator, that runs windows, but last i heard it had soem bugs.

You can try WineX. It plays a lot of popular games and they have a huge database of what works and what doesn't. I've had pretty good luck with it. If you have an Nvidia card it usually works as good or better than windows.

well shit, just trying to make something usefull out of my other P.O.S computer that doesn't have a modem so the newer windows with internet activations are impossible.

linux is a waste of time, IMO

hah, maybe if u dont want to know anything about computers.....

Incase u havent noticed *nix is taking over the computer industry. Gates is shakin in his boots cuz of it. more than 50% of the websites that u visit are being run on computers that use linux/unix.

if u wanna get anywhere in the IT world, u will want to have experience with linux

...so the newer windows with internet activations are impossible.
don't speak so soon...do a search (and make sure the kids are asleep).

um, linux is a waste of time. it actually offers me no advantages over windows. except a more primitive gui and support for no useful applications.
the fact that so many websites use it means nothing except that works well for servers. good thing the people visiting those sites dont have to deal with the linux theyre operating on.
I would agree with you to some degree. it depends on the purpose of your computer. if you just need it to type up stuff for school or whatever, yea, linux is a bit much just for that. (but linux distros are growing more and more gui-oriented). me, I only deal with linux when I have to, but there was a time when for me it was like: Linux=//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif "winblowz" = //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif now it's just who cares....

i guess u arent into computers too much.

Linux is so much more powerful than windows. I guess thats only come from a programming/server running point of view. PLus man windows is just too lame, even my grandma can use it
