line output conveter ????

ok well i put one of these http://www.darvex.com/SGN11/Stinger+Line+Output+Convertor.html well if i turn the volume up on the headunit it cuts the sub in and its a factory head unit the speaker says there 15 watts but theline output is 12 fixed do i need to get this http://www.darvex.com/P50/Peripheral+RCA+Line+Convertor.htmlto fix my problem since its 50 watts ?
