^^ Edit: Forum name should read "speaker level input problem" (Hehe, I'm tired and frustrated. Thinking is difficult right now)
Hey guys. I just recently decided to throw a 10 inch MTX sub in my '97 Accord and I'm having a problem. Seeing as it is the stock head unit, it does not have RCA outs on it, so I used the high level input from the rear speakers to the 4 pin connector on the amp. All works well, at moderate listening levels. HOWEVER, when I turn it up as well as when I just freshly turn on the head unit, the sub along with the rear speakers do nothing at all. A quick disconnect and reconnect of the 4 pin connector solves this issue, but it happens far too often for me to be crawling back there every time I turn on the radio. I think the issue could be the amp going into protect mode from the excess voltage created at startup and when the volume gets higher, but I don't know why this would cut out the rear speakers as well. Do you think it's a problem with my head unit not being able to drive the input current demands, or the sub amp receiving too much input voltage? Thanks.
