Line Drivers in SPL setup

What kind of benefit do you get from running a line driver in a pure SPL setup? If noise is not an issue, what benefit does one have of say running 9-volts to multiple amps in a SPL setup. I always thought the benifit of running higher voltage was to promote a high signal to noise ratio. How does this help in a strict spl setup, like say running a two-channel multi output line driver to 4 amps strapped as 2?

Many competitors run line drivers due to the distance the signal has to travel, or the signal is split up between so many amplifers. I will never sell my trustly little Overdrive.

How would you use one with strapped amps? Would the low-level output coming from the master amp going top the slave still be the same as the low level input going into the master? Or does it even matter about the slave amp?
