Getting an 09 Colorado quad cab and under the seat there is about 12 inches of width (gross), and from 4.5 inches to 6 inches clearance under the seat - not counting excursion for the subs and box space. So that doesn't leave much maybe 4.5 inches net of sub mounting depth.
It seems to me most of the "shallow depth" subs that are out look like junk or just won't product any real SPL.
Have been looking at shallow DD T1508's....maybe 2 of those with about 600W RMS on each.
Do the DD 1500's have any amount of SQ to them at all? I'm not after noisemakers but they have to pound when turned up.
What about JL 8W3's? I know they are in a different league but they are probably also a lot less money (although $ isn't much of an issue).
Or if there is a "real" shallow depth sub I have missed maybe in a 10 inch?
