Unless you get the proper training, I still don't think people should carry them. Most people wouldn't think before returning fire and maybe they hit an innocent bystander and kill them or they take it out in a non life or death situation. My dad and brother are both government officials and carry around their guns (I will too in a few months), but they don't take their weapons when they go to the mall or places where it's really not necessary. Someone tried to run my dad over and he couldn't shoot at the driver because he didn't know who else was in the vehicle. That's the kind of thinking that most people who carry around guns should be trained for.

I am issued one that I don't carry that often too. It is hard to find a balance. At times it can be more of a pain than it's worth, but then I hear something on the radio about something completely crazy happening in a neighborhood that I was at not even a couple days ago and I tell myself I should probably be in the habit more often. Wasn't there a shooting in some shopping mall somewhere not too long ago? But then again I also drink alot and dont want it anywhere near me when I have alcohol in me. What drives me nuts (Im sure there's some here who do this and see absolutely no problem with it) is people who leave a weapon unattended locked in a parked vehicle. If you're not going somewhere where it can be on your body at all times, leave it home.

that's not how it works. it didn't work like that when bush got elected in 2000. that is the year i realized just how pathetic the left is in this country. i hope he does well, but he won't do well if he actually does all that BS he compaigned on to get elected. i would probably like obama personally. his supporters, however, were one of the biggest groups of sheep i've ever seen. bush had sheep, but not as many. ignorant obama liberals make it difficult to even want to give him the benefit of the doubt. a large number of his supporters are ignorant morons. not all mind you, just many.

you're going to sit there, with a straight face, and tell me that i, as a law abiding citizen with a perfectly clean record and the proper training, should not have the right to carry a gun (which is a constitutional right by the way, i dont know if you've ever heard of the constitution?) in case any of the thousands of gangbangers, crackheads, or just bad fucking people in my city who carry illegal guns decide to attempt to do me or my loved ones harm? and wichita ks is not a rough city compared to some, but you will get robbed at gunpoint here.

Re my other post: A weak individual who goes out and buys a gun without having first taken steps to make themselves stronger is a danger to themselves and everyone else.

I weigh 180lbs, I'm no tough guy. However there was a time where people didn't use nor need guns. People got along just fine then, why can't they now? The same can be said about any other kind of technological advance be it in weaponry or telecommunications.
