lightweight subwoofer help me find one.

what you seem to be forgetting besides the size/weight of the sub is that you need a sub that is IB compatible. you could always make a support system or even redo the hatch cover in wood and make it look like the factory still and get you some reinforcement. if your just using the factory hatch cover which is usually made of some really flimsy stuff i'm suprissed that bose worked

heres my best buy hack job lol

this sub was from a 99 or 200 cadillac STS.

i know it doesnt look factory but it was a quick 15 min job just to put it there.

the sub been in about 4-5 garbage cans and we tried to blow it with the 12 volt and many other things but it held up lol

nobody belived in it untill i actually powered it up in my car and people were like wtf and started looking in my trunk to find the REAL sub .

it was not bad at all eventhough its a bose...

the hatch cover itsself is pretty **** strong, and reinforced by 2 metal bars( i wasted about a dozen self tapers trying to drill thru it, had to use a drill bit to make holes) and then screws would strip as well

but it hands on plastic mounts on the sides that tend to break out of the fiberglass where the screws are mounted.

and its not secured to anything, so mounting a heavy sub there would be like a *******, can you imagine a head on collision with a 10 lb magnet behind your head?

****, thats alot of sub

theres nothing to hang it on. it rests on the plastic side pannels, like i said im not trying to win a competition here, just need a 80-100 watt woofer that will fill in the missing lows and not overload my speakers.

i guess i could just use 2 of those

Tang Band W6-1936S 6-1/2" Aluminum Cone Subwoofer | Parts-Express.com

or these

JAMO HSA2522 10" White Paper Cone Woofer | Parts-Express.com

10" Square Frame Paper Cone Woofer White | Parts-Express.com

i like the old school speakers, i grew up tearing them apart lol, good times.

i have already 4 7inch woofers.

front 3 way setup with dynamat and everything

rear custom panels with just woofers, low pass.

but the rear panels are flimsy, no matter what i do to them they cant support a heavy or powerfull sub. they sound like sht regardless

i tried 5 different ways to set them up but end up taking them out anyway,

i dont know whats up with all these suggestions, thats NOT what im asking for.

i owned this car for last 6 years and i tried alot of different setups in it.

i really dont want to put the bose back in but if thats the only choice i have i guess i can live with that.

the home speakers are great but they are almost all 8 ohm which means the lil xtant amp wont have sht left to power them at 8 ohm.
