No such thing, you can only pull as much current as your charging system can produce

I just ran the car with stereo completely off and still got the "Battery Saver Active" warning on the dash.

This must mean its a battery issue then right? The only thing I can think of was that I short circuited the battery for a second and some sparks flew during the installation but I didnt think it was that bad. The battery itself is less than a month old.

Just got back from Auto Parts where I bought the yellow top. They did a full diagnostic on my battery and alternator and both are tip top.

Why the **** the battery is draining even with the stereo off I have no idea but I am VERY frustrated right now.

I'm not sure if the battery was draining but I just removed the 0 gauge run from the alt to the batt and left the stock wire on and everything is running fine now. For some reason it did not like that run of wire. Maybe too much stress on alternator was telling car to put battery in "Battery Saver Active" mode even when the stereo was off.

I'm just gonna leave like it is until I get a bigger alt on and then try it again and see how that goes but at least its running normal for now and I can play the system again.

The new wiring you have is drawing more than your alt can keep up with is the reason it went into shut/off/safe mode.Get your new alt in,and see what happens, also go get your alt tested along with your batt at orielys its free..do with and without a load
