A friend of mine has clipped the **** out of a 15" L7 for over two years with no problems. I hadn't even given thought to how long he's had the sub until a few days ago.

He has a cap too, though.

I abused the crap out of my L7s and they never gave me a problem. Even when I tried to blow them because Kicker had changed cone style. Every Kicker product I have ever ran has gone above and beyond my expectations and the manufacturer's recommendations of it.

YAY for cap, that's one thing I've never had in any install, even in my noob days.

I run a yellow top as a starter battery never had a issue other then everybody wanting a jump! only problem I ever had was from a crack around the+ post from a wreck, bought another they work great I'm sure there's better but it has a 3yr no-hassle warranty and all I have to do is go back to autozone say I'm not happy with the resting voltage they don't even test them like your making it up or ask HOW did you kill it, just drop a new one in and send me on my way that alone is enough for me to stay loyal to optima/autozone as a customer.

Alright broski. I don't know why everyone gets all huffy puffy about Optima. I run them because I got them for 40% off. Not because they're terrific. I've never had a single issue out of mine. Ever. On the same token I'm not their fucking spokesperson. You're just a god damned dipshit.

I can understand this... Some people hear shops tell them they need a cap, then have a buddy tell them they don't. Who do you think they'll listen to? Some people don't take quickly to proper advice if it is different from how they started learning a subject. I was one.
