Life of sub surround in direct sunlight

I plan on having a bass setup with a much smaller footprint so I'm http://www.caraudio.com/forums/miscellaneous-car-audio-classifieds/549695-selling-everything.html (

The plan is mounting the subs so that way they face upward through the rear deck. I worry about the life span of the subs because of the sunlight/UV rays directly on the subs. The subs will probably be the TC Epic 8's. I live in pretty much a desert area- regularly 100-110 degrees in the summer.

I haven't thought of any practical ideas except for UV tinting on the rear windshield, but that would look dumb since there's no tint on any other window. So that's out.

Another idea is to maybe recess the subs downward at least 1.5" with a grille and thin fabric over it to block some of the rays but allow most of the air to pass through. This is also a plus for me because I'm not keen on the idea of showing off my ****. Brings me to a new questions.. anyone have 3 waffle style 8" grilles?

Thoughts?

All the TC subs I've used use rubber surround and exotic material cones. I don't think they will deteriorate from UV light, but the extreme heat won't do you any favors for power handling.

Also IMO if you don't blow your subs before the surround degrades from sunlight you're a total pvssy....
