Got 6 speakers (2 tweeters and 2 mids in door cards in front) and 2 mids either side of the parcel shelf in my Fiesta Mk5, so basically standard sized speakers in standard mounts, just uprated speakers. Got them all amped through a Vibe Stereo 4 1200w amp, and got an 1800w Vibe Blackair B12 sub wired up to complete the lot.
Had various problems with RCA cables not working, broken amp etc, but now my problem is when driving along, the front left of my speakers cuts in and out occasionally. Originally i thought it was a dodgy AUX cable but after replacing that, i thought it could be the connections, Checked all of those, undone and redone them and its still not working properly. Could it be a faulty connection in the plug that plugs into the back of the headunit?
I have removed and reinstalled all of the wires going to and from the amp, checked all connections between vehicle wires and new wires (for amping), tried adjusting headunit settings, all to no avail. When it cuts in with everything else on high volume it sounds awesome, its just the cutting out that annoys me. It generally cuts in when the music gets more full, when theres a nice range of mids highs and lows, and cuts out when the music gets less full and quieter.
If it helps, the left hand side tweeter sounds blown at mid volumes with high end sound coming through it, but when i turn it up, it sounds crystal clear. Could it be as simple as replacing the tweeter?
Any help or other possibilities would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance
