just get lgdownload and flash the phone to whatever version you want even other colors. i flashed my black to a white and just put anything i want with bitpim. i now have free games free ringtones and mp3 and free internet.

-_- my sister has a LG ENV .. and i got songs on her phone .. i think on her ringtones .. by formating the microsd card and then drag and drop songs into the sd card via Sandisk memory reader .. but i could be wrong .. i forget ..

EnV and Chocolate work the same way.

So much Misinformation in this thread. Howardforums.com is your friend. Theres 100 threads on the Chocolate alone and how to put ringtones on them.

With the newest Bit pim you wont need LG downloader. Bit pim puts in into NV Edit mode for you... I know this may sound werid, but if you read the forums youll know. if you want direct help with how to do this, PM me and I will walk you through it...

***Lg Downloader gets pass the block verizon put on with bit pim. Lg downloader allows your phone to go into NV edit...It also lets you flash the phone and copy the phones memory. However, the newest bitpim will put you into that mode and then you can drag and drop songs...or clips...

from what i know, that still doesent work on version 6 and higher sw...

for my version 5 software i had to change the dll files to be able to put new ringers on it, and i had to get lgdownload to put it into nv edit mode so i could change the dll files and put the ringers on it.

no, i dont know what those files are or what they do, i just know what i had to do in order to get it to work.

ill be one of the first to admit i dont know everything about it, but i knew enough to get it to work and to do it myself, and i know that its not as simple as it was on older phones or software versions.

i know this is an old thread but for what its worth i just bought the new chocolate and used bitpim to easily convert and drag ringtones from mp3 file right onto the phone. i think it was stated earlier it wasnt that easy. it is.

whats the quality of the downloads? when i used to go to 3gforfree.com it was a crap shoot. some were good quality others sounded terrible.

ANyone knows a site where you can make your own ringtones that will work with verizon ? I Have used phonezoo and myxertones.com to create my own ringtones but I Never received the ringtones I made via Text.
