good budget comp sets. Or mix and match speakers off partsexpress. What are good xover points for tweets, 6.5 midbass, 8" midbass? Never really upgraded and now its time to keep up with the substage. Amp is a aq4x90 that im working with.

I'd say around 4k give or take 500hz

This, by far is my most favorite midbass driver: DIYCable.com : Intro » Home » Exodus Subwoofers » The only downside is that it is 8 ohms and loves power. My next favorite would be the Mach5 Audio MLI-65, but they have been out of those for quite some time.

As for tweeters, I'd suggest looking into a large format tweeter, such as those from Morel, or a full range driver such as the Fountek FR89EX The Fountek would be better with the driver mounted on-axis to the listener whereas the Morel should do OK if it isn't mounted 100% on-axis.

aren't morel's 1" too? just with ferrite mags instead of neo's? They do handle some major power though.

Yes, but most installs I've heard them in had them crossed over lower than tweeters from other manufacturers.

Yeah they are waiting in my madisound cart , once the buick gets a motor they will be in my doors.

What are your goals? Just to keep up with your substage? Loudness? Or are you trying to focus on SQ?

just trying to keep up. I want it to sound somewhat good but SQ is not my goal. as it looks im looking to run 1 6.5, 1 tweet and 1 8" per door. Would like to find a xover for the 6.5s and tweets to run off. THen i can just cross the 8s off my amp.
