So I have this.

And with the seats down it looks like this.

If I completely remove these bottom seat cushions the driver seat will still go all the way back. (I'm 6'3")

Metra makes this awful looking dash kit but what can you do? It's not like Ford makes one.

So in my head I have an active 3 way setup with full custom door panels including an 8, 6.5, and tweet. Not sure on brand yet but Crescendo is on the list but def wanting to go higher end. I would consider ruling out a brand that didn't offer an 8 (want it to match), like Rainbow, if I knew it would keep up with the subs and I wasn't losing too much in the mid bass range. Actually since I've decided not to wall this car I might was well go with 2 4 channels and do a 2 way active front and rear.

So with 3 XS/Northstar G31/34s and an alt somewhere in the 270 range I'm trying to figure out what subs and amps I'd run if I were to commit to turning my car into a 2 seater. My absolute max dimensions are 54L x 40W x 17.25T. Using 45x40x17 with 1.5 inch thick walls gives me like 9.8 cubes before sub displacement with 14 sq in port per cube @ 30ish hz. I could single wall all but the baffle and brace well and gain like 1.5 cubes and stay under 33 hz. I want a hair trick setup. Was thinking 4 12s, 2 15s, etc. I just cant decide if I went this route what I would do. 4 12s has more motor force and more cone area but takes much more power and money. Lets say I have a 2 grand budget on the subs at most if I'm going 4 12s and will have enough juice for 5-6k rms.

Maybe 2 DC Lvl5 18s in 11 cubes inverted? Or 4 Sundown X12s on 5k? Or 2 Soundqubed HDC4 15s on 4K? Shrink the box and go 1 SSA Evil 18 on 5K tuned low?

I listen to all kinds of music but will want to dig low for some air movement. Imagine The Weekend slowed and rebassed, then Nirvana Polly, then Cat Stevens Peace Train, then Pink Floyd Mother, then Lil Wyte Oxy Cotton. That's the kind of playlist I might have.

Lemme hear what you'd do. Let's say 3-4 grand on subs and amps and I'd prefer to strap 2 2500-3ks than use a single 5k or 7k. Just my personal preference.

So I think Ive narrowed it down to 2 subs but its tough. Need some input.

12 inch Sundown NSv3 in 2.5 cubes on an Ampere 3800

Or

15 inch DC Lvl5 in 3 cubes on the same Ampere 3800

I have enough room for either and still have room for batteries. Its gonna be an aesthetic build with neatly orgabized wire, beefy enclosure tuned to low 30s. Maybe high 20s. I want wind but not at too much a loss of 40s and 50s. The DC is cheaper i think and more displacement but might not get as low as the NSV3.

Just want some help deciding.

My buddy right now has M2 has lvl 5 15s and they sound clean. Not super loud but clean. Howcome it's a 12 vs 15? Why can't the nsv3 be a 15" too? Either way I'd still get the nsv3... Nastiest woofer I've played with and I've had atomic apxx,DC lvl4/lvl5,DD 9918,DD 9515,solo X 18,crossfire Xs v2,ect... and I would pick the nsv3 out of all of them.

Nsv3 15 needs 4 plus cubes. Im pushing it on space at 3 cubes with heavy bracing and room for 2 G31s. Think the 12 might be on par SPL wise with te lvl5 15?

I think it would be close. Hard to say though because I never used a new lvl 5 m3. DC tooled basket and 3.5" voice coil... I know for a fact the nsv3 can take 3000-4000 clamps power daily.

Hmmm.... i might just go with the 12 then. Ive decided to keep the sub all in the cargo are and under the panel that hides it when the hatch is closed. I just hope it satisfies me for a while. Havent had a system in a while but I dunno of riding around hitting 145 is gonna make me happy.
