Yes, you can say no to a police search, but if they have a canine unit available and close enough to get to the scene in a timely manner, they will hold you and let the dog sniff around the vehicle. If the dog indicates anything is there, that right there unfortunately gives them probable cause. I think it's bs, but hey, it's the law which is retarded. Most cops after being signaled by a dog would go ahead and search. Sporadically though, you will find an honest cop who will still go to the lengths of calling the on-call judge to confirm that probable cause exists and securing a telephonic warrant.look at the vid I posted and the site... good info
It's amazing how many people say the cops can search their vehicle when asked....then having pounds and pounds of drugs pulled out of their ride and complaining they were coerced into letting the cops search. *Shrugs*
Also remember that if a cop can't prove probable cause within a timely manner (up to an hour, yes I know that's still a while), then they are forced to let you go. Same thing goes with waiting for a canine unit to show up.
