Leasing a car/truck?

So I have been thinking about leasing something lately. I like the idea of having a brand new car and then getting rid of it clean and clear when im done with it.

I would be keeping my car so I wouldnt have to go over miles on the lease.

Heard an ad today on the radio for $289 a month $900 down on a 2012 Dodge Ram quad cab.... it started snowing today so I am getting sick of my RWD V8.

Any opinions on leasing?

looking for something AWD/4WD

no such thing as a 2012 dodge ram :p

cant lease a vehicle that doesnt exist.
Try telling me it doesnt exist after I smash your little piece of shit honda ricer junk into the concrete while Im smoking a giant blunt eating a sausage mcmuffin

My opinion, if you have money to lease, you have the money to buy. Paying 3/4's of the sticker price to rent a car only to hand it back has never sat well with me. It does guarantee you will not have to pay for repairs and such, but seems like a waste of money. But at the same time, I am ignorant of your specific situation, so leasing could be a great idea for you. If you don't like rear wheel drive already, even with 4 wheel drive, the Ram will still piss you off when you drive on snow. What is the main reason you would like to lease a vehicle?

My car doesnt even have posi so its a one wheel piece of **** that literally goes no where when snow touches the ground.

My main reasons for leasing is not liable for any maintenance. Not liable for anything I didnt **** up myself. The payments are cheaper than if I were to get a loan with a bank. And I hate selling vehicles. If i can just give it back to the dealer, and swap in a new model (2014-2015) and keep the same payments, why not? Free maintenance and brand new vehicle again.

Also, I hardly put on any miles.

Only downside with a lease is you cant customize anything. But **** it, thats what my car is for.

Horrendously stupid to lease a vehicle from a financial standpoint.
I gots money playa.

Sounds like a good plan, just remember though, you can't make modifications to a leased vehicle, so no upgrades. it would stink to take it back after paying so much for it and they decide they can't use it.

Also, most rear wheel drive cars use the same differentials as small truck of the same Make, so you can look on Jeggs.com (or other site) and swap in a rear locker and gain the use of both rear wheels. Then you could use the extra money saved from not leasing a vehicle for audios!!!! And hookers!!! lots of hookers!!!!!!!!

We're leasing my wifes Lexus and only are going to end up paying a little over 1/4th of the price of it. I don't think we will be doing it again though, I'd rather buy a used with low miles and have some type of collateral when we go to sell that one for another than what the lease does and you just are paying out of pocket the whole time.

And how are you thinking no maintenance? Still gotta pay for all the normal oil changes and whenever the milage maintenance comes up.

Not true, you can modifiy as long as you can go back to stock without fucking anything up.

4wd is fun in the snow but it still pisses you off when you're on the road with 3/4 of the people in 2wd. You can only go as fast as the car in front of you. Why not buy something FWD?
Haha **** I hear you, even in my car I pass up trucks and **** on the highway.. ridiculous. But still, you know what car I have, and you'd think it would be OK.. and you know how much snow we get.. In january ill let you drive my car and you will see.. its really ****** stressful not being able to literally stop at a stop sign without getting stuck.

Yeah, what happens if you buy a brand new lex for 30k and then the ****** or engine blows up or some bullshit, then you're like 40k in the hole plus you have to deal with selling it and losing money and all that bullshit.

If it was my ONLY vehicle I would buy it, but as a second, I feel more comfortable leasing I think.

I was actually looking at the IS250/350 AWDs but lexus always wants a hella big deposit up front

That's what I meant, you can't modify things, but you can switch things in and out, just no modifications to the structure which can't be reversed.
Which is still kind of a waste of time. That would be like throwing up a chain link fence and some drywall in a house you rent, then taking it all back down when you move.
