Learned alot on Friday

You can use reducers or distribution blocks in the back.
Limiting you power/ground wires is only hurting the setup and if you decide to upgrade you will need the larger wire anyway.

If you are competing then I'm not sure why you would want 4 gauge in your car?

thats true. ill will probly go head and re reun it then

so you are changing the wire for a bigger amp, and not getting the amp you wanted to run? makes sence. those amps are worlds apart in performance and price. dont lie to kick it, its was more then you can afford pal, sundown.
nice...

haha, mk, so i guess mystical phenomenons like thermal resistance, voltage drops, ampacity (basically how many electrons can pass the area of the cross-section at once, with different conditional values) surface and core resistance, etc are all a big lie some guy made up. better alert the people who measured and rated these things officially, because they really fucked up. oh, and never mind the input voltage ratings on your amp, it'll put out the same at any source voltage, lol. i give up

like i said it wasnt no one that i hang with. they were on here. i borught running a saz 2000d on 4ga. and they said not possible.

lol same thing happen to me last nite bro

So i learned alot on Friday from a few guys on here (Thanks Guys). I learned that with the wiring i had even with a sundown saz 2000d i was not getting 2k rms. which now makes me scared for sub. So Im changing my wiring in my truck. So ima Look for a amp that does about 1800 @ 1 ohm. I seen the audiopipe 1800.1 i know by what people say that these do rated at 1 ohm. or Im open to suggestions.

it would take a severe voltage drop to reduce power output from 2k to 1k, likely to the point where amp may shut down from under voltage. i doubt the increased resistance from using a 4 gauge wire alone would cause that much of a drop in voltage. 2k watts on a stock electrical system is going to tax it substantially. voltage drop will occur due to insufficient output from the alternator, it will continue to decrease as the battery continues to buffer it, as well as from wire resistance. you may not necessarily get 2k watts out of it, but i doubts its gonna be 1k either. at that point, your amp likely would have shut down.

bottom line, with that much current demand, you may want to upgrade the wire, most importantly for safety reasons. and possibly an upgrade to your electrical system.

well i learned how to wire subs lmao thanks too my new dmm i got my subs down to the correct ohm... were learning bro and will never stop learning new things. but yea id say upgrade your wire and add a battery thats why your wire is not really getting hot because you dont have that much current going thru the wires, but yet you say that ur lights dont dim out idk how much does your alt put out???

lol what you mean?

like 160a. but i may be wrong... and again i seen a ap1800.1. i can get it 165 "Shipped". do you think it would be worth trying.

Or i know power acoustik ***** but the new ovn5500's are suppose to be more effiencent? do you know anything about these

foreals its not stock for sure though rite?? i've really havent read or seen their specs so honestly idk, and about power acoustic i really wouldn't get it bro! but for that price 165 then i'd say its a good deal! is it like 1700rms?? or 1500RMs??(ap1800)

ive read reviews over audiopipe. and the ap1500.1d does the rated 1500 @ 1 ohm. so i figure the 1800 with it being the same series has to put out its rated as well. its the same board just alittle bigger in size. They really about 200. but i happend to find one for cheap.

well if its reted for that much go for it but honestly i doubt it would give you 1700rms whats the fuse rated at??
