Late Model Chevy HU question

Hey gang,

I just purchased a 02' Chevy Impala. I have an Alpine HU that I would love to install into my car. My question is what do I lose when I remove the stock radio?

I know that all the settings (Oil Change reset, Tire Monitor Reset, etc etc) are accessed and controlled via the stock radio. If I replace it with an aftermarket, do I lose the ability to reset/turn those things on/off?

I know I can purchase an aftermarket product that retains the chime noises. Any help with this would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Drugar

You need to get the special harness that relocates the stock radio so all of the functionallity still works.

Where do I find the harness you are referring too? Is this what you are referring too?:

The problem is, my car has Onstar, so this will not work //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
