Ok, Ive decided what I have to decide on...

1 - 15" Type R on a Alpine MRD-M1005

or

1 12" Type X on an Alpine MRD-M1005

The box size I can make is 2.174 cuft internal volume, not including the slot port that I would like to have.

SOO? What do you peeps think?

Hrmm... Ya, I dunno which to go with, Ive never had a 15 before, always been 12's... never had a 1000W amp before either.... so I just have no idea what its going to sound like.... either the 12 or the 15..... SPL is mainly what Im looking for, but to sound good while doing it.

If I get the Type R 12, should I be running it at 2 ohms, or go down to 4ohms?

My problem is, I wanna get 1 sub, then see if im happy, but if not, get another one, but then I need the dual 2, so either way, I want to get the dual 2.

I'm pretty sure you mean dual 4 ohm if you got 2 subs.. and I thought you wanted a 15' type R? 12' R's are only like 105$ at ikesound.com ... AMAZING price //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I ordered... the single 2ohm Type R, and the MRD-M1005.

So I will run it at 4ohms for now, which is 500W RMS x 1 @ 4 ohms.. which is perfect for that sub, so when I get 2, I can knock it down to 1000W x 1 @ 2ohms.
