i was thinking that, but he seems like he doesn't want to overpower his system too much, plus the 10's would be a bit punchier

Ah. good. Imo, I would just try out 1 at first. That way if you find that you dont like it, you are only out the cost of 1 sub and a smaller, cheaper box. If you do like them, then you can get the second, build the same box as was built for the first and there you go. And let me say, It will only get better from here!! Just watch how much you spend-lol

The are on the pricey side so search around for a nice used/rebuilt one.

Also look into the above mentioned subs as well as Image Dynamic's.

IMO the ID is a very nice SQ geared sub.

So, to my suprise no one has really said anything about the head unit. I did the least amount of research in this area and expected the most scrutiny there. Does anyone have anything to say about it?

I noticed you are running a Brutus amp, thevic24. I considered going with the 1200 model, but was talked out of it by lots of people claiming that Hifonic does not do quality work. What is your opinion of it? If I switch to the Hifonic, I can save about $80.

To be honest, I do not really have any experience with JVC Hu's. I put a much older model in my mom's truck quite a few years ago. Its still going strong to this day. For me, I have always liked Alpine and Pioneer units.(Just beware of the Pioneer picco issues) Great features for the $$$.

I have not been running them that long(iam running 2) but mine do rated @ 2 ohms(have not tested at any other load) and sound very good IMO.

They are VERY efficient on my electrical and application. I have given them a really good couple of beatings over the few months that I have had them.

No complaints from me so far, except maybe for the bright blue logo's at night.

Better yet, if it's not too much to ask, can you recommend a setup about the same price range as I have that may better succeed in what I am trying to accomplish?

The AQ amp is a good choice but if you are looking at the BRZ line, I would go with the 1700.1 and a good used 2512 if you can find one. I would also run ported and tuned in the mid 30's.

Thanks. It's ridiculous man. I mean, I've always loved music, being a musician myself. But this crap is addicting. I just cant stop looking stuff up.
