I just got bit by the whole tube amp thing about 2 years ago.

I have since sold off all of my SS home amps and have all tube power now in the house.

One more of my hobbies that my wife dose not agree with due to the $$$$ involved-lol.

That JVC deck is solid. I have ran a lot of the arsenal decks and always sufficed me well.

I was going to get that same deck you were, but opted out for the new Kenwood x-595 as it had a few more features. May be something to consider as well. Always had get luck with the X-line of Kenwood as well. Right about the same price...

I do recommend those Type R's for a ported box. Would sound a lot better and you still would be able to enjoy your rock music....and would really thump on the rap.
