Every laptop I have had with a decent speed chip has ran hot //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif My current HP Centrino 1.5 even runs hot. Tis the nature of most laptops.

Take the essentials of what a desktop computer does, cram the components togethor in a small case with a smaller fan, and it's going to run hotter. I can only speak of experience I've had with dell, my desktop is fast and works great, and although the customer support is obviously overseas, they stay on the phone as long as you need and always fix your problems. However, I've had a compaq laptop that I've had for almost 2 years, also running XP, and it's also great. I'd check out dell laptops, or even the cheapest alienware laptop starts at $999 now, although I'm not sure of the specs. Hope that helps.

haha yea. i got tired of the heat though, so i sold it and bought some opterons //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif .. but back on subject, have you looked into any of the newer gateways?

A colleague at work here has a brand spanking new Pentium Mobile with the works thats a Gateway. Her loves it. The screen looks nice and its quick. I am not sure on the chip speed though.
