laptop problems...help

so when i go to start up my brand new laptop after having it for like 2 weeks....well it goes to start up normally then it says something to the affect of needing to check disk C for some kinda of error or inconsistency...it says "hit any key to skip and continue start up" well it counts down from 10 seconds and doesnt ever start the checkup and also hitting any key wont skip and start the computer...so in short i cant get to the computer because it just stays with this stupid message on the screen....anyone ever heard of this? ill update in the am with what brand and mod. just posting for now in hopes of a answer when i wake up. thanks

got recovery disk ? or option to press f11 or f10 to choose a boot option ?

Sounds to me that there's something wrong with the windows installation. Try the repair function. I believe you can pull up the options as windows is barely starting up by pressing F8 IIRC. When this happens on my mac (boot camp, windows xp), i keep pressing a key but it still goes through the check up.

well everything was fine til i downloaded the winisd beta and also google earth...downloaded them a few days ago...im going to try and hit f10 and whatnot to see if i can start in safe mode. only real option i have right now

just keep hitting it, your bios screen probably says at the bottom "Press F8 to boot in Safe Mode" so just keep tapping it and it should bring up the safe mode menu.

Yeah. Hold it as soon as it is booting and it should give you an option to do safe mode with or without networking.

If system restore is on you could restore to an earlier date like twisted stated.

Do you have a flash drive or external hard drive connected? Maybe it is trying to scan one of those before it boots........

What brand of laptop? Some of them have a recovery console with an image that can be extracted to restore the PC to its factory image.....

held down f8 and choose to recover at a earlier date. but weird thing is it wont let me 100% delete the winisd beta crap...such a bad idea DLing that crap...anyways thanks guys
