laptop help!

So i bought a toshiba laptop (model # a205-s4067) and dropped it last week. I am 99.9% sure the harddrive. So i'm probably gonna just replace it myself, but what hard drive to replace it with. I know its SATA, so can i just replace it with any standard 2.5'' laptop harddrive??? will it fit right??? Please help lol...

I kno its SATA, checked that out. The toshiba one was a few bux more thats why i was trying to go without it...but i need to get this done so i think i should probably just fork it over....

O, specs say the drive has a 9.5mm height don't know if thats significant. Thanks for the help guys!

I wouldn't reccommend that you just go get any replacement. Get one from Toshiba that is not a refurb. That's your only way to ensure that it works &/or fits.

I disagree. i work on laptops every day and the hard drive is the most common thing replaced. It doesnt matter what kind of hard drive it is, it should and will work. I have never seen a toshbia/hp/compaq/sony not accept a certan type of hard drive.

IBM makes a 1.8" laptop hard drive, but odds are it is a standard 2.5", you could always check. Just make sure you have all the software/driver cd's you need before you start.

Generic hard drives and well as knockoff batteries for laptops both **** the fat *** scamness.

Its obvious your a retard and have no clue what the hell you are talking about. Check out the Best Buy, Circuit City ads for this week and go get the cheapest one. Any Maxtor, Seagate, Western Digital etc will work fine. It is also usually a very easy swap.

well i ordered the toshiba one from newegg....it was the cheapest 200gb one they had anyways...comes tommorrow.

SHOULD fit. ive seen companies like dell make it impossible to put new mobos in desktops and what not, but ive never seen a hdd not fit.

just make sure it matches the size of the one you have and that it is SATA not ide.
