VIBE amps good
viberant amps bad
I don't think there's much truth to that at all.
They're aimed at the same market, use similar layouts relative to model numbers.
Priced similarly relative to power...
you just have to do some digging to get a reasonable estimate on power ratings. Almost all the max power ratings are nothing short of a bad joke, and it seems many of the numbers associated with RMS are just as misleading.
I do think Lanzar is trying to make some changes to the way they publish power ratings for their budget stuff though. For example, the web retailers still have BS ratings on the xx6 line, but if you go to the trouble of downloading the manuals there are what appear to be very accurate ratings for them.
Take the Vibe266 (viberant) --
On millionbuy it's listed at -
500x2 at 4 ohms rms, and 800x2 at 2 ohms.
With a pair of 20A fuses you know automatically that those numbers are crap.
In the manual on Lanzar's site they have -
150x2 at 4
230x2 at 2
Now THAT'S believable, and probably even pretty accurate.
And ~$130 shipped at etronics makes it a decent buy IMO.
