Lanzar MAx

I owned a pair of the 12" lanzar max square subs for a while, because they 'accidently' published the ratings for the lanzar heritage 15" sub, which is 1000rms/2000max, while the speakers i bought were SUPPOSED to be rated 500rms/1000max.

Needless to say i was very unhappy when they arrived, since i got them to replace my 12" l5's that i blew up off my opti2000d, and the max's lasted a few days till they too blew up, and i got out of car audio for a while after, and because of that.

Sorry for the rant, this thread just reminded me of that glowing experience.

If you're considering lanzar, i would stick to the heritage and optidrive product lines. Good luck! And the max's have been out for a few years now, i think i got those 12's in spring of 2003. They're supposed to be their 'street team' product line....

I know you're talking about the amps, i just don't think they do rated.

I don't think they'd put the same name on great amps and crappy subs, the amps probably leave a bit to be desired as well.

i'll snoop around for an amp for ya, i wouldn't recommend the max, tho. give me a bit.

Oh, and what is it going to be hooked up to? Does it matter if it's a bit more power than 500?

Mmmm, name-brand cea-2006 compliant 500 rms for your pleasure //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

The second one's my pick, and cea-2006 means they're gauranteed to do rated power or better //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif

Let me know what you think!

there's no possible way the max amps do what they're rated for.

the question is, how do they do relative to cost. Most of Lanzar's non-Opti stuff is decent for the money. I wouldn't expect a whole lot more.

I do like the looks though.

thanx fellas. it doesnt matter if it does over over 500. i'm running a single MTX-MZS1204 4 ohm SVC. but i plan on getting something a little better (around 75@ pioneer w126?)
