Lanzar amps!?

So I've been doin a lil research trying to find an amp to power 2 hdc3 18 D2's that isn't gonna completely break my bank, I found a Lanzar Opti3201D. 3200 rms @ .5 ohm, for $400 from sonicelectronix. It says it's a cea compliant, anyone know how these amps perform? Any clamp results on opti amps? I'm really considering jumping on this.
Very good amp for the $. The one pictured is not Zed made, but i did read somewhere they may have been Zed designed, like the old ones.

If it says "made in the USA " then yes it may be a zed amp but if it says " designed and engineered in the usa" then it is not a zed produced amp or even made on this continent . The 8000D in the pic is not a zed made amp
what he said

I don't think so, Mantz has said that he has nothing to do with these new amps

Looking at the guts of the Opti amps, I would definitely not guess that Stephen Mantz had anything to do with them. They're still solid amps though. I don't like the looks, so I'd probably never run them, but they definitely do what they advertise from what I have seen.

Ah gotcha! Yeah I wold much rather have the ZED made model.
The Zed made Opti amps were from the early 90's. They didn't look as square if you looked at them from the end caps. All class A/B except for a 1000.1D which got a bit smokey if you dropped impedence. More recently Stephen rebuilds the power supplies on them if you had a broke one and sent it in.

That all being said, the big Opti's (4K and 6K) used to share boards with Soundstream XXX. They make about rated at real world voltage.

All far-east amps larger than 2KW are time bombs. The circuit they use is only really 100% reliable up to that point.

Id say that 90% of what Lanzar makes is flea market garbage. The stuff in the Opti series is very high quality, though. I had a Opti700x2 to push the 8 10" Eminence mids I had and it was great. One of the biggest full range 2ch amplifiers that Ive seen, at 950x2 @ 2ohm.

This. Anything from lanzar that wasn't from their Opti line I wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole. However I use the opti mids and I love them, they take 100w like it's nothing and get loud as hell. Also have seen their 2k get put to work and that thing wasn't weak at all.

Amp Name: Opti7001D
