defiantly SQ over SPL. Its going into a small car so it doenst have to be crazy loud. Ive looked everywhere for info on the FI Q but havnt found anywhere to buy it.
EDIT: I guess you can buy them straight off the FI site. If I was gonna run 2 10's/12's should I get Duel 1 or Duel 2 ohms. Someone wanna explain what that means?
Sure,
The Duel you are referring to means that there are two voice coils (two + - terminals). If it is a DVC "2 ohm" that means there are two + - terminals and that both present a 2 ohm load to an amplifier. You can therefore wire these (through how you can connect the two voice coils) either at 1 ohm, 2 ohm, or 4 ohm. 1 ohm stable amps are rare & expensive so you generally don't want to go that route being a semi-beginner. 4 ohms is ok and stable but it gives you less wattage. 2 ohms connected to a mono amp capable of handling 2 ohms should be the perfect solution here.
honestly there's a lot to explain so if you want to message me on AIM if you have it my username is Shammiester and i would be glad to help you out
you are definitely correct in listening to us and choosing the Fi Q or ID Q, you honestly can't go wrong and you will probably blow your friends away with how clean they sound compared to the best buy stuff. in case you don't shoot me a message and don't get a whole lot of help, you want to pick 2 DVC 2 ohm subs so that you can wire them both up to a class d mono amp at 2 ohms (a certain way which i can explain later). then you need a decent class d monoblock amp to give each approx. 500 RMS, that's 1000RMS total. this is easily doable. i can easily recommend you a 2 ohm stable kicker zx1000.1 (1000RMS @ 2 ohms). kickers are decent amps, priced competitively, and will give you the performance you need.

this one is dirt cheap and with warranty compared to what they are supposed to sell for (MSRP). once you get 2 DVC 2 ohm subs and the amps you are going to want a sealed box that meets the specs of the 2 subs together as far as space goes. hope this helps
p.s. do you still want some trunk space? if so you can get 1 12" IDmax from image dynamics (1000W RMS) and it will get plenty loud enough, plenty low, and blow you away. as before you want dvc duel 2 ohm. 1 cubic foot sealed box should be enough for that setup but that's up to you
