kx2500 going into protect..

im not real familiar with how much kicker charges but depending on how many mosfets they have to replace probably around $150. just a rough estimate.
I think there is 20 of them that need to be replaced. The top and bottom side closest to the connections for the power. The ones on the other end of the amp look just fine.

I just sent it off. The guy at USPS said it should be there Friday. I have never sent anything to kicker before. How long will it be before they call me and tell me how much it will cost? Also how do I pay for it? Will I be required to pay for it by credit card? Then how long after I approve the repair will it be before they get it back to me? Just kinda wanting to get an estimate on when I will get it back.

Is Kicker open on the weekends as well?

waiting on the phone call from kicker...It was scheduled to arrive at Kicker this past friday. I hope I can get it back by the weekend. And I hope it doesn't cost too much.

Well I just talked to Kicker. They said there was 20 blown mosfets and 2 outputs fried. They gave me an estimate of $105. However they said the amp would never be able to be under warranty because of the abuse its been through. They said they opened it up and sand poured out of it. So they also had to clean out the board. I dont have any sand anywhere near where I live and I only had the amp for a week or so, so I know the sand didn't come from me.

Sand?IN the amp?!?

Enough so that it "poured" out?
Thats what the representative said. I really dont believe it though because I took the amp apart and I didnt notice any sand. It was slightly dirty but not sand and not enough to pour out.

They said they probably wouldn't be finished with it till friday //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

I guess while I wait for it to get back I will do a few changes to my system.

I am going to redo my ground with the Kicker Hyperflex instead of the wire I got now. I am going to use my DMM to see if I can find a different ground with lower resistance but I dont really think I will.

I also am going to redo the big 3 with 0 guage instead of 2 guage. Or would it be alright to do both 2 guage and 0 guage? I can't remember if there is room or not on everything to have two wires but if there is should I do that?

Well I get to call Kicker tomorrow and they are suppose to have my tracking number. I am guessing that it will be here on Tuesday. I cannot wait!!!

This weekend im going to add 0 guage on top of the 2 guage I already have for the big 3. Then I am going to try to make my ground for my amp a little better.

Hopefully big 3 with both 0 guage and 2 guage, a good ground, and all 0 guage wire keep voltage to the amp pretty good until I can get another battery for the back.

Kicker didn't get my amp shipped Friday like they said they were going to. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif They said it should get shipped tomorrow (monday) though. So I figure I will have it Wednesday.
