kx2500 going into protect..

i just took the amp apart to take a look. I seen what was wrong. I dont know what they are called but they are just little metal bars along the outside on both sides of the amp. Quite a few of them are burnt.

I took a picture of the part I am talking about.

Sorry its a cameraphone.

Those are not the ones that are burnt but its the same kind of part.

Would it be easy to replace/fix these?

EDIT: It looks like only 1 or two single bars came disconnected. Most of them are still connected it looks like they are just black.

what would be wrong with connecting them back? What are mosfets for anyways?
If the connectors are popped, the mosfets themselves are most likely fried as well. So even if you can get them reconnected, that does NOT mean that the mosfets will still work.

Just send the amp back to kicker and have them repair it. If you do, you'll also get a warranty on the repairs.

I got the part numbers on them and found the on nteinc.com. I am going to order 20 of them. Then I am going to have my buddys dad install them because he is some kind of electronic engineer or somethin.

Why don't you listen?

Send the amp back to kicker. They will go through the WHOLE amp and make sure nothing else is broken. It may be more than just the mosfets.

On top of that, you'll get a WARRANTY.

I don't understand why you are making this more difficult than you have to.

That will cost alot of money i'm sure. After buying this amp and 0 guage I dont have much. lol

So what happens if you waste money buying mosfets and the amp doesn't work because of something else?

I think you fail to realize how painstaking and time consuming it is to fix an amp, especially having to replace all those mosfets. Just to replace the mosfets you have to pull the whole board out of the casing, desolder all the joints, insert new mosfets, then have to resolder all those joints.

You can send the amp in to kicker, they will go through the amp and determine how much it will cost to fix it. They will call you with the repair price and ask if you WANT to get the amp fixed. If it IS too much money, then just have them send the amp back.
